GABA Receptor Interaction

The GABA receptors are a class of receptors that respond to the neurotransmitter gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA). The GABA receptor is a ligand-gated ion channel.

The receptor is composed of 2 alpha, 2 beta, and a gamma subunits. The GABA molecules are binding between the alpha and beta subunits.

This illustration shows how GABA molecule binds to the GABA receptor and how chloride ion passes through the ion channel of the receptor.
